Ok, i know, it's an old game but i bought it cos it used to be one of my favourite games ever . . and guess what? i got stuck!! lol
If anyone can help, please do as im going to go mad otherwise.

I've actually reached Monkey Island and am trying to get the boats oars from the creek. I've only got one rope though and need a second one to get to the bottom, so i'm stuck halfway and need another rope - where can i get one?

do you mean Escape from Monkey Island or Curse of Monkey Island? either way, simply type the name of the game followed by PC walkthrough into Google and you will get a multitude of sites to help you.

It's the secret of Monkey Island. Killian, I tried Google but the only help i can find on there are the walk through's, it doesn't tell me where i get the second rope from?

Will carry on looking tho.

how about this:-

At the fort, pick up spie glass, pick up rope, move cannon, pick up gun powder, pick up cannon ball. Now go to fork (East). Pick up the noteable rock, goto the damn, place gunpowder in damn, use noteable rock on cannon ball.. K-A-B-O-O-M

When you get to Stiff (Dead Person). Take his rope, now goto the crack, (South West) Use the rope to climb down, then use other rope to climb down. Pick up the oars, and climb back up! Go back to the fork. Go over edge, clib up footholds, when at top, go to middle top of plataeu pus rock off, if it hits bananna tree it is cool, if it hits your ship it is cool. If you miss, then go down footholds to that art sculpture, and move it. Climb back up, pick up the Pile O Rock, and use it again, do this repeatedly, (Moving sculpture) When both the ship and the tree have been hit, go back to tree (Where you 1st landed) Pick up that banana, now goto row boat, use oars on rowboat, now paddle to Village.

got it from:-

Actually, reading Killian's post, it's not 100% accurate. It can be played that way, but it's not completely necessary to sink the ship. If you sink the ship it has a different outcome later on in the game. It's only a minor thing, but you might want to try it both ways.

Monkey Island my all time favourite adventure game :D

Incase you require further help, hints can be found here. It is good as it only gives you one clue at a time so as to not spoil the game for you.

Sam and Max Hit The Road and Day of The Tentacle, 2 of the funniest but hardest adventure games ever made.

Both made by Lucasarts as well, like the Monkey Island series.

Damn them for cancelling the remake which was coming to Xbox as well as PC and the rest

Yup all those games mentioned are excellent, only one I haven't played is Gabriel Knight 3 but the first was great - in fact I might even try to find Day Of The Tentacle again, soooooooo funny :)

Has anyone mention Maniac Mansion yet?

That game was brilliant, and despite the fact that the character Jeff (the surfer stoner) was totally useless and Bernard (the hyper intelligent geek) was such a wimp.

You know what, i'm tempted to make a 'what Maniac Mansion character are you?' quiz

You could play Maniac Mansion in Day Of The Tentacle, there was a computer somewhere that if you tried using it started Maniac Mansion as a sub game :D

Day of the Tentacle, yeah.. You sat at that computer and Manian Mansion was on it.. Brilliant. I haven't played any PC games in ages. I think that might have been one of the last ones!

LEMMINGS!! Now if only someone would port it to Xbox, online enabled.

I do have Lemmings for my PC, maybe I'll play it later, I can complete several levels on it without even making any effort hardly.
