Ive heard quite a few rumours about neil warnoks presence at the end of the season. A few blades fans want him gone, and some want him to stay. The rumours are that warnock is going and kevin blackwell will replace him as number 1, and that macca is going to be number 2! Wot do people think of these rumours? Should warnock stay or should he go?

Keep him - done well with us, he's a Blade and he speaks his mind, which in my opinion is good - who gives a toss what other teams fans think.

keep him! He's done a good job, even though the blades are going through a bad patch at the moment. The "fans" who are calling for his head should say who they want to replace him... and in what ways they think the new man will be able to do a better job than Warnock.

Look how many managers the owls have got through in the last few years.... and look at their position in the tables! (not that i'm complaining about the owls' position!!)

It's a similar situation to what Trevor Francis had at Birmingham. He kept reaching the playoff and just missing out and never taking them up. The board wanted success so in the end they got shut. To make things worse Birmingham managed to get promoted under a new reign.

It depends how badly you want success. I think it's fair to say Warnock as made steady progress but has he reached his limit? A new manager may not make any difference or could be a backward step.

It's true that some of the credit/blame for success/failure should go to the manager, but the players have some responsibility too. I presume that those who are wanting to sack Warnock because of a bad spell will also be wanting to sack players who have been under-performing too... ie Tonge, Jagielka, Lester, Kenny etc etc.

I totally agree wiv that warnock should stay. He has done a lot to this club, look at the success he has helped us to achieve. Just a shame he has never been rewarded for the hard work.
If we get a new manager, it will probably take a while for us to adjust to him, so instead of going forwards, we may well take a big step backwards.
I say keep Warnock!

I don't think he is doin badly as such right now. But like lickszz said, if you want sucess you may have to get rid of him.

Yeah we may have to get rid of him, but dont u think it could take a while to ajust to a new manager?

It pains me to say it, being a Wednesday supporter, but he has done a lot for the Blades, despite being a complete and utter ****hole who always put his foot in his mouth!
Maybe you could keep him away from TV cameras and reporters so he can't make a fool of himself?

My view is Warnock to stay, who would replace him ? He is the best thing to happen at SUFC and the right man for the job in hand.

Can't believe people are calling to sack someone who has done so well for the Blades. Even if they don't make the play-offs this season, they have still done well.

Thats what a lot of blades fans do tho! They are big fan of the manager when everything is going brilliantly but as soon as something goes wrong we should then sack the manager! I think he should stay, he is a GOOD manager and he is really down to earth!! He is a lovely man! He has done this club some good, and i dont think that he is finished! Theres still something to come out of neil warnock!

I'm a Plymouth fan (I accept your offers of congratulations) and the rumour on our message boards was that he was a strong contender for the manager's job down there. Remember he still has a home in Cornwall, his wife lives down there most of the time, he writes a column for the Western Morning News and he is often seen at the toll booths of the Tamar Bridge (which for those of you who don't know links Devon and Cornwall at Plymouth/Saltash). So how committed is he to this club, and this area, "blades man through and through" or not?

I'm undecided.

Part of me thinks he's taken Blades as far as he can, and someone else needs to finish the job.

But I like his style...he's an arrogant **** (masked it myself before a mod does xD ) BUT he has got that "way" about him.

If he goes, it won't be because he hasn't done well here, but I'd give him one more season to really see whether he's got what it takes to carry on to the top flight.

He's good at what he does, and that is improve the fortunes of a team. But can he finish the job?? I hope he can and he deserves the opportunity to prove he can

I think he still has a little bit to show! I think he is a bladesman through and through!

How can any1 question whether he stay or go! He should stay by far, saving us from relegation and then leading a club with NO money into twp cup semi's and a playoff final, then this season instead of doing a forest and falling under the dissapointment we are still (just about) contenders for the playoffs. People forget SUFC is a club with a huge crippleing debt and just because of a fantastic season last year their exspectations are far to high! Warnock has built a fantastic squad regarless of the financial restraints and managed to maintain a high team spirit and i think it is the fans who let th club down, the atmosphere is appaling at games!

The atmosphere is shocking! A few games ago a couple of fans were singin we dont even sing when were winning! It is shocking, we need to sing to give the players that extra push! they need to know that all the fans are behind them in ngood times and bad times!
